2020 Holiday Gift Guide
That time is upon us, when the days are short, nights are long and cold, and everyone seems happier. More smiles are seen, grocery lists are longer, and people greet each other with a cheery salutation.
Except this year.
This year, masks are prevalent, gatherings are limited, visits and shopping trips are quick. Caution is in the air.
This year is different.
However, this time of year remains the same. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, or even Festivus, it is a season separate from others, where, even though we might not be able to see our loved ones, we should still think of them, call them, or keep them in our memories. We might not be able to gather together, opening gifts, sharing meals, but we still have the opportunity to adapt. Send a card to someone you might normally greet in person, drop off a platter of holiday treats, or swap holiday potluck items.
Here's where I come into play. If you're looking to get your loved one a gift they not only will remember constantly, but use daily, I have a few items that I think would make their eyes light up. When someone has a good knife that is handmade, high-quality, and sharp, they tend to want to use it more often, thus cook more often. And we all know that food is the way to the heart. Food brings all of us together. If you want to get to know a culture, eat their food as a start. Food shows love, creativity, and joy.
Here are some items that will spark that joy and bring love. Pocket knives, honing rods, and thread snips all make great stocking stuffers.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, stay warm, and stay safe!
